The Story of the Balloon
28" x 20" in
(70 x 50 cm)
Official Limited Edition Print of 70 signed and numbered copies by French street artist Onemizer.
This thought-provoking artwork employs a stark, contrasting palette of black and white with poignant splashes of red to convey a powerful narrative. Set against a pristine white background, the minimalist imagery places emphasis on human figures in various stages of interaction with heart-shaped balloons.
The piece is divided into four sequential frames, portraying a child's relationship with a red, heart-shaped balloon. Starting on the left, the first frame showcases the child holding onto the balloon, symbolizing innocence and purity.
The second frame depicts a moment of loss, with the balloon slipping from the child's grasp, illustrating the fleeting nature of love and childhood dreams. In the third frame, the child reaches out longingly towards the drifting balloon, a gesture filled with both hope and despair.
The final frame shifts dramatically in tone, presenting a child who has turned away, hands behind their back, a poignant expression of resignation and acceptance of loss.
The heart-shaped balloon, now out of reach, floats away in stark contrast to the cold, blank space, symbolizing the relentless passage of time and the inevitability of change.
The simplicity of the artwork, combined with its powerful emotional undertones, captures the viewer's attention immediately. The precise use of color—primarily black and white with the vivid red of the balloon—amplifies the emotional weight of the scene.
This composition is not just a visual treat but a deeply moving commentary on the nostalgic innocence of youth, the inevitability of loss, and the transient nature of happiness. It encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences of love and loss, making it a timeless piece that resonates universally.

About Onemizer
Onemizer was born in 1987 in the South of France. He spent part of his childhood in Africa where he made his first encounters with art and discovered watercolor.
Back in France as a teenager, he got to know Parisian graffiti during his walks around Paris with his parents.
The edges of the highways as well as the Parisian subways are real museums for him. This real love at first sight pushed him to survey vacant lots, as well as railways and abandoned warehouses, in order to paint on walls and improve his skills out of sight. After high school, he decides to undertake art studies by integrating a design school, but prefers to continue his journey on his own.
Little by little, he goes from the wall to the canvas, and it is pushed by his entourage, that he begins to show his work and exhibit his paintings according to his meetings in luxury hotels, restaurants, bars ...
He then organized his first exhibitions in the surroundings of Bordeaux as well as in the Paris region.
Much has been done since his beginnings in the streets, and he now exhibits in many international art galleries (Paris, Courchevel, Megève, Cannes, Singapore, London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Miami, Tokyo…).
Onemizer took part with a hundred other international artists in the world record for the largest graffiti on canvas which took place in Dubai in November 2014 and which was validated to appear in the Guinness book.
